Or am I focusing on what I consider relevant only?.Am I considering all the right criteria when pushing my ideas?.Do they have a different background and need more context to understand why this matters?.Is this more how they treat people in general?.What have I done in the past? Is this something I can remediate?.Do they see my success as a threat to their own?.Are my ideas competing with theirs and they feel threatened?.So, when facing a touch situation, I'd think less about the DSM 5 diagnosis for mental illnesses and more about understanding why people might be attacking my ideas, reasons being: I've had many bosses who've helped me think about where other people are coming from and thinking about how I can modify my messages to make sure it lands with them. In my experience, I've found mentors to be the best way to improve at this. So, I don't think you necessarily need this background to be good at understanding people. Psychology is a field that is often vague about the particulars of specific human behaviour and often more focused on what happens in general (or really specific things like how the brain processes images).
